Bath… Charia and cleanness
One can not speak of Hammam-Sousse without mentioning its traditions and its customs. It is with a great conviction similar to pride and attachment to the roots that the inhabitants of Hammam-Sousse have preserved their traditions and their customs, but also have maintained and reinforced them despite the attempt of modernisation. This state of fact has in no way hindered the progress of the society. The town is known by its traditions of the “Charia” its feminine costume the “red Takhlika”, “wool carding” (by women working in the traditional sitting room the “Skifa”), to make “Bornus”, “Cadrouns” and “Abana” (kind of bedspread). Water constitutes the essential element of the behaviour of the traditional buildings and the town, and in this way, we find in every house a small traditional bath and "Sauna" of which the unique model is found in the Punic town of Karkouan in the Cap Bon. We must also notice “that cleanness” is rooted in our habits,
