Diversified and complementary units 

The industrial activity consisted in the beginning in the presence of several industrial units depending on agricultural products (mills, oil mills : in 1857 there were 4 mills and 14 oil mills), or on local natural resources (oven for manufacturing lime, bricks).

Since 1972 and with the state encouragement to private investment, the industrial sector has known a new growth, industrial units have been established in the region of Hammam-Sousse, furniture industries, plastic industries, construction and sewing industries are in full growth, boosted by the existence of an important infrastructure, electricity, gas, water,… the port of Sousse is at only 10 minutes and the airport of Monastir at 25 minutes, not to forget the high attendance of young workers. 

Most of the industrial units are small and medium size enterprises, situated at El Bhaier, on the east coast or the border of the town. 

Hammam-Sousse has the most important industrial group of wood manufacture, metal and synthetic products : “Meublatex group”.

The town participates with ideas, challenges and successes that stimulate the national industry.
